Well after a wonderfully productive start to my year of study I all of a sudden found myself totally consumed by all sorts of obligations.
I'm a big baseball fan, and I dreaded the beginning of the Baseball season because of the distraction that it would represent to my goal of studying. So... I decided that I would not fight it. I got a fairly prestigious job as the Questec system operator for Oakland Coliseum. It's a 4 camera computer vision system that is used to evaluate the performance of the home plate umpire. So I flew out to Arizona for spring training, and I have been working all of the A's home games. It's been cool. I've met all of the TV commentators, and it's fun to feel like I'm part of the show. So, while I'm wasting more time on Baseball than ever, I am getting paid for it. So, every day I do baseball I don't HAVE to draw, but my study schedule has now been extended until February 2008.
If that wasn't enough of a distraction from my studies I decided to start working again on a TV show I have been involved with for several years. This took up almost all of the free time that I had left-over from baseball. It's not entirely artistically unfulfilling, but it is practice of a certain type of art, that is somewhat to the side of my envisioned career part. I feels much more like community service than artwork. If you're curious it's online at:
video.google.com/videoplay?doc…Also I did some contract work for my previous employer.
Anyway that is why I haven't had any time to draw. The plan is still the same, but the schedule has been padded somewhat.
